And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

When Jess and Roy told their friends and family they were having their wedding in San Francisco at the end of March, everyone asked if they were worried about the weather! It was definitely a valid question, especially since it has been particularly rainy this year in the Bay Area. Neither Jess or Roy were the least bit worried though. San Francisco is their favorite city and they visit at least three times a year, but have always hit on beautiful weather. Their faith was justified, because it turned out to be an absolutely stunning day for their San Francisco City Hall wedding, despite rain both earlier that week and the next week. Roy joked that if I ever need beautiful weather, I should give them a call and have them fly out! I should totally take them up on that offer, especially if it means I get to see Jess and Roy again, because they were so incredibly sweet and I loved photographing their wedding!

If you haven’t been the San Francisco City Hall, you should definitely go visit! The building is beautiful, inside and out, with European inspired architecture and gorgeous natural light. It is open to the public on weekdays and hundreds of couples get married each week. In fact, while we were there, we saw no fewer than seven other couples getting married and taking photos around the building. Jess and Roy had their ceremony in the North Gallery up on the fourth floor with 40 of their closest friends and family, which was sectioned off from the public, so it was still an incredibly intimate, emotional ceremony.

After the ceremony, the guests were all sent off on a Gillibus (basically a big yellow school bus!) for a tour of San Francisco as we took a few photos around City Hall. Of course, we had to make sure to get the iconic stairway shot! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the before/after of that photograph I shared. There was definitely a lot of editing involved to get rid of all the other people there on the busy Friday afternoon, but it was worth the extra time and effort! Afterwards, Jess and Roy got in a Rolls Royce to take the scenic route to their reception at Wayfare Tavern.

We got there a little early, so Jess and Roy ordered a bottle of wine and sat in the tables in front of Wayfare Tavern, enjoying the sunshine as they waited for their guests!

Lisa of Riley Loves Lulu coordinated their wedding, making sure everything went off without a hitch!

Congratulations to Jess and Roy on their beautiful SF City Hall + Wayfare Tavern wedding!
