And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
Last month, I got the chance to join the amazing Bre Thurston on a Crissy Field engagement session up in San Francisco. Well, really, it started at the Palace of the Fine Arts, but my favorite photos were definitely taken along the beach of Crissy Field! San Francisco has so many wonderful backdrops for engagement sessions, but it’s always a bit of a toss up as to whether there will be sun or not. We lucked out with a gorgeously sunny day with some awesome wind too. I always love when my sessions have wind, haha! The Palace of the Fine Arts is beautiful, but it was completely COVERED with photographers! We saw several quinceanara photos being taken, as well as more engagement photos and some family photos too. It was definitely a little challenging working around all the people in the background, but Bre rocked it.
The fun thing about second shooting is I don’t have to worry about nailing the shot, so I can be a little more creative and play with other lenses like my Lensbaby Edge 80! I usually don’t pull it out for sessions because it is harder to nail the focus and I don’t want to miss the moment. Since I knew Bre would be getting all the shots she needed and mine were just bonus, I got to play!
After we got some photos at the Palace of the Fine Arts, we walked across the street to Crissy Field and the sweet bride-to-be did a quick outfit change into a gorgeous white lace Anthropologie top. The light started turning absolutely gorgeous, and I trailed behind Bre and the couple a bit to capture them walking across the bridge with the best shadows.
We got to that little stand of trees you can see on the right just as the sun was filtering over the hills and creating the most incredible streams of light.
I have such a soft spot for the Golden Gate bridge, especially when there’s a gorgeous sunset behind it.
