I am so excited about this fun Baker Beach engagement session. Nick is actually one of my coworkers, so I was particularly excited when he asked me to photograph his engagement photos. Although I have never met his fiance Catherine before, I /had/ met their dog Belle! Nick’s brought Belle into work a couple times and she has always been so calm and sweet. I’m a huge dog lover, so I was excited when I learned that Nick and Catherine were planning on bringing their dog along to the shoot. We actually ended up changing the location of the shoot at the last minute. We were planning on China Beach, because it was an absolutely gorgeous day and I was pretty sure that Baker Beach was going to be very crowded. A few hours before the shoot, Catherine noticed that dogs aren’t allowed at China Beach, so we decided to do the session at Baker Beach instead. The plan was to head over to China Beach for sunset and get a few photos of just Nick and Catherine, but it ended up being so lovely at Baker Beach and it was totally fine shooting around everyone! Plus, it got a little windy and cold, so everyone but the photographers and their subjects had left by the time sunset rolled around 😉 This was my first time shooting a session at Baker Beach, and it was so much fun! I’m definitely going to have more Baker Beach engagement sessions in the future, though I still want to check out China Beach and Sutro Baths!

We had so much fun on this shoot. Nick and Catherine were constantly laughing and smiling, so it was super easy to photograph them. And, of course, they are just adorable. That being said, I think the star of the show was probably still Belle! She really wanted to be close to them, so she is in most of the photos. It took us quite a bit of effort to get her out of the frame for a few photos. You can tell she really loves them <3
