I’ve seen a lot of beautiful wedding venues, but I have to admit The Casitas Estate is one of my absolute favorites. Just a few miles from downtown San Luis Obispo in Arroyo Grande, this charming Spanish-style bed and breakfast is the perfect backdrop for a wedding. The owners, Pat and Tony, are incredibly warm and welcoming and are always happy to answer any questions or help out in any way.
There is a parking lot right off the main road and a shuttle to take the guests up to the top. The first thing guests see is the main building with a lovely fountain and a beautiful courtyard. Most cocktail hours are held here, though some ceremonies are as well! Surrounded by lush green trees, the courtyard has a very intimate feel to it.
Off to the side is the gorgeous rose garden in the middle of three beautiful cottages where you and your bridal party can stay. It’s particularly beautiful right at dusk, when the fairy lights wrapped in the trellis begin to twinkle between all the greenery.
Past the rose garden is a beautifully maintained lawn where the reception is usually held. There are charming bistro lights that are the perfect touch for al fresco dining. Your guests will be treated to an absolutely stunning view of the surrounding vineyards and hills. By the building is a terracotta sunken dance floor, which is perfect for both family photos and the first dance.
Further down the steps is the vineyard which serves as a backdrop for most ceremonies. This is also a great place to sneak off to for sunset bridal portraits.
Finally, there is the pool at the very bottom of the estate, along with a pool house where the groom can get ready. The pool has a similarly incredible view of the landscape below.
My favorite thing about Casitas Estate is that there are beautiful tile details everywhere! All of the steps are lined with different tiles, as are the bathrooms. The grounds are also beautifully maintained, with a vineyard that serves as a backdrop for the ceremony, lush lavender bushes along the steps, and lovely succulents tucked all over the estate.
Number of Guests:80-130 on average, up to 180 max.
Catering: Pat from Casitas Estate says, “We don’t want to restrict our couples to a small finite list of a venue’s favorite vendors, but we do offer great suggestions and will give open, honest feedback on any vendor to ensure that each couple has a wonderful group of support. For any new vendors, we ask them to visit for a site tour to be well prepared for the day of festivities!”
Average price: Packages range from $7800 up to $18800
Standard package: The most popular package includes exclusive use of the entire seven acre estate property. Lodging for 8-10 guests in the beautiful four casitas for two nights as well as breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday morning allows for you to house either your family or bridal party on site! Basic round tables and padded chairs are included in the rental with the option to upgrade to farmhouse tables and chairs. Day of coordination is also included, along with an incredible amount of support with the vendor selection process (as shown in the above answer!) Finally, even shuttle service is included, creating a true destination wedding feel!
