And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

Casitas Estate is one of my favorite wedding venues, so I was thrilled when Hannah and Matt reached out and asked me to photograph their wedding. It worked out perfectly because Hannah and Matt live up in San Francisco, so we were able to do their engagement photos at Twin Peaks and I got to travel down the coast for their beautiful San Luis Obispo wedding (well, technically Arroyo Grande!) at The Casitas Estate.

Hannah and Matt’s wedding was a complete blast to photograph and I can’t imagine a better wedding to end my season on. I remember Hannah telling me when we had our first meeting that she was a bit nervous about the possibility of rain, but there couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for their wedding! I started my day with Hannah and her bridesmaids as they were getting pumped up for the wedding by blasting their favorite songs and rapping along. When my second shooter and I were chatting later in the day, it turned out Matt and the groomsmen were doing the same thing!

Bride and Bridesmaids in robes getting ready for wedding

The bracelet that Hannah is wearing? Her mom gave it to her and also gifted matching ones to each of her lovely bridesmaids. Even sweeter, Hannah’s best friend made her garter out of Hannah’s mom’s wedding dress. Also, can we talk about Hannah’s incredible bouquet?! Hannah specifically requested the dangling amaranth and I love how Lori paired it with a huge protea. those deep purple scabiosas and whimsical maidenhair fern.

They got married in the vineyard under a lovely chuppah decorated with flowers by the talented Lori Boe Floral Designs, followed by cocktail hour in the courtyard around the fountain.

We had such a good time wandering around the gorgeous Casitas Estate for their bride and groom portraits! We started in the lovely rose garden, headed to the front of one of the cottage for the prettiest light, and went to the wilder hillside just as the sun started dipping behind the horizon. My favorite photo, however, is the one right before their grand entrance when they were kissing under the string lights near the courtyard.

Wedding Reception on Infinity Lawn in San Luis Obispo Grand Entrance of Couple at Casitas Estate

The reception was held on the infinity lawn under the string lights, overlooking the sweeping landscapes that surround Casitas Estate. Hannah and Matt are both vegan, so they got Hannah’s favorite restaurant in San Luis Obispo to cater the wedding. Splash Cafe did a fabulous job and all the guests enjoyed their delicious dinners as the sun set and the stars began to come out.

Hava Nagila Hora Dance at Wedding

Unsurprisingly, after the toasts and the first dance, the guests all had a blast dancing the night away, especially when Hava Nagila started playing and they raised Matt and Hannah on chairs as they danced around them. At the end of the night, as the last song played, Matt and Hannah went to the edge of the infinity lawn to look at all of their guests and the incredible wedding they put together. Congratulations to Matt and Hannah on an absolutely amazing wedding!!

Quick shout out to the amazing vendors who helped make the day possible! It’s always such a pleasure to work with Pat and Tony, the owners of Casitas Estate and Janet of Sandcastle Celebrations. Pat’s love for Casitas is apparent and she and Tony are always working on making the venue even more beautiful for their brides and grooms. Last year, they created a gorgeous succulent wall, which actually ended up being one of Hannah’s favorite parts of the venue! The guests all loved taking photos in front of the beautiful succulents during cocktail hour. Janet is, hands down, one of the best wedding planners and event designers in the business! Her incredible visions and attention to detail mean weddings she helps put together are always stunning and run ridiculously smoothly, and Hannah and Matt’s wedding day was no exception.
