And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

Amy and Dan first met at UC Berkeley, where Dan was doing his PhD. After a few years, Amy moved to Philadelphia to study at UPenn… which is where /Dan/ did his undergrad! They’ve been long distance for a few years now, but it’s clear that their relationship is still as strong as ever. We had so much fun wandering the coastal hills and black sand beaches of the Marin Headlands. I am so in love with these Bay Area engagement photos and am so excited to share them with you!

Amy specifically mentioned that one of the things she loved about my work was my use of light, color and rays of sunlight, so I was definitely a bit nervous about the weather! Since Amy was flying in from out of town, we pretty much only had this weekend to make it work. It had been raining all week, but we got lucky with a break in the clouds. When we arrived at Rodeo Beach there was just a hint of sun, so we rushed down to the beach to make the most of the clearing in the clouds. I’m so glad we did, because the sun didn’t end up coming out for the rest of the session and I love the golden glow we got as the waves splashed against the rocks and the sunlight lit up the droplets.

I always love engagement sessions because they let me get to know my couples better. It also gives my couples a chance to get in front of my camera and get to know my approach to posing and interacting with them. Best compliment I could have gotten? Dan said after the engagement session that he really felt that they had made the best decision choosing me to photograph their wedding and Amy said they had so much fun during the session they even forgot the cold… and it was definitely cold, haha!

I’m so excited for their wedding at Nestldown in September! I’ve already gotten a sneak peek of Amy’s wedding dress… and trust me, you’re not going to want to miss it! If you love this blog post, you might also want to see other Bay Area engagement photos like the ones from this Silicon Valley engagement session.
