And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
I’ve been dying to share these stunning Marin Headlands engagement photos with you all. This may be one of my favorite engagement sessions ever! Hannah and I actually go all the way back to the summer of eighth grade when we both took a geometry class through a program at UC Berkeley called ATDP. To be completely honest, I barely remember any of that class (except doing lots of proofs, oh my gosh, haha!) except doing the final project with Hannah. Together, we built a model of the Sydney Bridge out of, I kid you not, wooden skewers, hot glue and hundreds of toothpicks. So, you can imagine the panic when Hannah called me saying she had accidentally left the bridge on BART!! Luckily, some nice employee of BART was able to find it for us… though I’m pretty sure we threw it out after we had our presentation, haha.
Hannah reached out to me back in September asking if I had any suggestions for photographers in Boston. Since we go to Boston at least once a year for our regular Cape Cod visits, I told Hannah I could definitely ask around for Boston photographers, but I would also love to photograph their wedding. It ended up working out perfectly, because even though Hannah and Josh live in Boston, we were able to do their engagement session at Rodeo Beach when they were visiting Hannah’s family.
Since they were visiting at the end of November, in the week leading up to the session, I was anxiously checking the weather forecast, as it originally predicted rain. Luckily, even though it rained in the morning, the skies cleared up for an incredibly beautiful afternoon with the sun peeking through stunning clouds. Hannah and Josh basically showed up looking like models! I mean… how gorgeous is Hannah’s flowy pink dress, and I’m still obsessed with how classy Josh looked in his suit and loafers.
It still makes me so incredibly happy that Josh asked if they could walk down to the edge of the cliff and get a shot there. Of COURSE the answer was yes! I would never say no to my couples asking if they can walk to a ridiculously stunning location 😉
Hannah and Josh, I seriously cannot wait for your wedding in Boston!! It’s going to be such a blast and I am so excited for the two of you to begin the next chapter in your lives. If you liked Hannah and Josh’s beautiful Marin headlands engagement photos, you might also like this coastal engagement session or this sunset beach engagement session.
The Marin Headlands would also be a stunning place to take anniversary photos, so if you’re looking for any type of couples’ session, please contact me or email me at alice@aliceche.com so we can get it on the books!
