And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

This is actually last year’s Valentine’s Day session! I already shared our Valentine’s Day picnic with you, and Sam and I are actually about to head out to our picnic for this year… but I also wanted to share these photos that we took after the picnic last year. Valentine’s Day came about two weeks after we started dating, so I told Sam that the only present I wanted was a session ;). He was incredibly obliging and even let me pull out a fan so we could take windy photos a la Candice Zugich (The Blissful Maven). These were taken on the back deck with the fan resting on the railing of the deck. We were right up against the deck and I just made sure to compose the photo so that the fan wasn’t part of the photo.

It was actually kind of difficult using the fan for wind! I think my hair was so long that the fan had to be angled just right to get my hair blowing. It was lots of fun though, and we ended up with some of my favorite photos. I never shared most of them because, at the time, we were only dating for a few weeks and I thought that they’d be a little too intense haha! Even sharing some of the more light-hearted laughing ones got Sam a text from one of his cousins asking if he had gotten engaged. #photographerproblems haha! By now though, I think everyone is used to engagement type photos from us, since I make Sam participate in my self portraits ALL THE TIME. I’m so lucky that he is super nice about it and never complains when I ask for a session. Alright, we’re about to head out to our picnic, so I’ll just leave you with these photos!
