And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
I can’t believe I am just now getting around to sharing this Sonoma Winery wedding with you! I photographed this wedding way back in October with Anita Martin Photography. Anita reached out to me about second shooting this wedding and I almost said no, because I had Kelly and Zach’s Loomis Flower Farm wedding the very next day. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to shoot two weddings in one weekend, but I always love second shooting for Anita, so I decided to go for it. Funnily enough, Anita lives just down the street from the Loomis Flower Farm. She was a complete sweetheart and let me stay over at her place after this wedding, which worked out perfectly!
I grew up in the Bay Area less than an hour from Sonoma and Napa, but I have actually only been to wine country a handful of times in my life! That definitely needs to change though, because this Sonoma Winery wedding was absolutely beautiful. This winery has an absolutely incredible view of the vineyards, but the coolest part of the venue is the wine cellar! It was lucky the wine cellar is so awesome, because it ended up being an incredibly windy day. The first look took place outside, but we soon headed inside to escape the wind. With all the candles and wine caskets, the wine cellar is pretty much the perfect place for bridal portraits. The couple even snuck in a practice first dance!
And can we talk about how fun the couple is? The groom was totally nervous during the ceremony so the bride kept making the cutest faces at him to make him laugh and relax. Anita always has the best clients, and these two were no exception.
The cocktail hour was supposed to be outside with the beautiful view of wine country at dusk, but it was so windy and cold most of the guests ended up cramming into the tasting room! The guests that braved the cold were rewarded with a beautiful view and a charming setting with chandeliers and string lights in the trees.
