And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
Many of you may not know I’m a San Francisco boudoir photographer. Honestly, I shoot boudoir pretty infrequently. So infrequently, in fact, that I don’t even have a blog category for it! Last January, one of my best photographer friends, Felicia Chang, convinced Kate Densmore to organize a photographers’ retreat. A dozen of us flew into Seattle and drove three hours to Kalaloch on the Olympic Peninsula. It was an incredible weekend and I blogged about the time back in February 2015. I loved Kalaloch so much that I convinced Sam to go there with me again when we went to Seattle last July.
Even more importantly, that weekend I gained a community of incredible photographer friends. We support each other through the year, and we hope to meet up every year! This year, we did Kalaloch 2016 in San Francisco. Unfortunately, we chose March, right around Spring Break… which is traditionally a fairly rainy time of year. True to form, it was one of the few rainy weekends of the spring. It was kind of a bummer, because it meant our visit to Napa and walk through San Francisco weren’t quite as lovely as we’d hope… but it also meant that we didn’t feel guilty taking a morning to do one of our other “traditions”… a boudoir shootout!
Rainy days are actually wonderful for boudoir sessions because the light is so moody. My favorite thing about boudoir photography is finding light to highlight the beauty of the human form. I love positioning my subjects so the light is just kissing their features and bringing out their natural beauty! Looking back at these photos makes me so excited for a boudoir session I have coming up this weekend!
