And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
I loved photographing this Los Altos History Museum wedding with Bre Thurston. Even better, I actually got the chance to photograph this couple’s Crissy Field engagement session with Bre as well, so I had already met the bride and groom. Bre and I visited the Los Altos History Museum last year when she was teaching the first run of Photographing Weddings through Click & Company, but it was completely different photographing a wedding there!
I met the boys at the Westin in Palo Alto to photograph them getting ready before driving over to Enchante Boutique Hotel, where the bride and the girls got ready, for the first look. Enchante Hotel is an incredibly charming hotel with the prettiest lobby. For brides who are planning on having their wedding at the Los Altos History Museum, I highly suggest getting ready at the Enchante Hotel. It is right across the street from the venue and has wonderful natural light. The lobby, with beautiful light coming through the front door and a chandelier in the background, was also the perfect place for the groom to lay eyes on the bride for the very first time!
I always have mixed feelings about first looks as a photographer because so early in the day, the light tends to not be as pretty, but the emotion and excitement on the faces of the bride and groom are always so fun to capture. For this wedding, since the first look was indoors, we didn’t even have to worry about less than ideal lighting 😉
Los Altos History Museum is just a few miles from where I live in Sunnyvale, making it one of the closest wedding venues to me! Even better, it is also gorgeous. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all held in the open courtyard with some absolutely incredible flowers and lovely details. I adored the relaxed feel of the eucalyptus leaves mixed with dusty miller, anemones and cafe au lait dahlias that made up the bouquets and centerpieces.
It was a beautiful wedding filled with love and laughter and fun.
