And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
I can’t believe I haven’t shared this lovely Lands End engagement session with you all! Now I’m just barely squeaking by before Julianna and Sarak’s wedding in September, haha. Julianna and Sarak first met at the Bridges climbing gym in El Cerrito and are huge lovers of the outdoors, so it’s not surprising that they decided to have their wedding at Saratoga Springs. It took us a while to figure out the perfect location to have their engagement session since they are used to hiking to all sorts of incredible locations. We finally settled on Lands End and Sutro Baths for the landscape variety, everything from beautiful trees to stunning beaches.
Julianna and Sarak don’t do as much rock climbing these days, but I still made them do a bit of scrambling over the rocks to put them into the perfect golden light. When I apologized to them, they laughed and said they expected to do at least a /little/ climbing. They were also such good sports about putting up with my frequent stops whenever I saw the perfect light (anyone who has spent some time with me will tell you that if I get a considering look on my face, it’s probably because I’ve seen some pretty light!) We had such a great time at their engagement session. Whenever I photograph at Lands End and Sutro Baths, I start up at the top with the trees to filter the light, before making my way down to the ruins of the baths, where the light can be a lot harsher. Along the way, we chatted about their wedding favors (they’re planning on making plum jam for everyone from the plums at Julianna’s parents’ house!), their recent move and the rest of the wedding planning. I can’t wait for their Saratoga Springs wedding in September, but until then, here are their engagement photos!
