And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
We made it to Australia!! I am never /ever/ cutting it that close at an airport again though! Sasha and I needed to stop by NHS’s warehouse to pick up the extra a-arms.. and it ended up taking just a little bit longer than expected. While still in Menlo Park, we got a call from Sam who was already at the airport.. telling us the line was very very long and the checked luggage deadline was an hour before the flight. I was horrified when I realized it was already 9:15 and our flight was at 10:50.. We promptly booked it to the airport with some driving from Nathan that was probably more suited to his Atom ;). There were also some complaints about “Mormon Dads”.. This is apparently what they call it in Utah when there is a string of cars all across the highway going just above the speed limit and blocking you from going any faster.
Anyhow, we made it to the airport at 9:38 and I promptly almost had a heart attack when the line just was not moving. I kept on checking my phone and freaking out whenever I saw the time. But we made it! We even ran part of the way to the terminal. The flight was fine. All three of us were in different rows. The only really notable thing for me was the truly terrible sausage they served for breakfast. Sam said he expected the other side to have a scrubbing pad — it was that spongy.
We’re chilling at Sydney now for a bit before our next flight. The weather is absolutely lovely here and we are trying to soak it in a little before heading off to the humid mess that is Darwin. Plus side, we have hotels this time!
If you think that sausage was terrible, don’t eat what they serve in the hotels in Sydney. They’re indistinguishable from gelled slime in a casing.
