On the morning of this beautiful Foothills Park engagement session, it was literally snowing in the park! Apparently, every five years or so, it will snow in the Bay Area, which is totally crazy! It’s also been the rainiest winter we’ve had in the Bay Area for years, which is definitely good in general, but makes it difficult to schedule engagement sessions. We were originally planning on doing Aly and Bobby’s engagement photos up at Sutro Baths this past weekend, but as the day got closer, the forecast got worse and worse. Finally, on Thursday, I called it and said we should postpone the shoot until Tuesday. Since it was a weekday though, I couldn’t make it up to Sutro Baths in time for golden hour, especially in the winter. Luckily, Aly and Bobby live in Palo Alto, so I suggested having their engagement session at Foothills Park instead! Technically, Foothills Park is in Los Altos, but it is only open to Palo Alto residents. It’s an absolutely gorgeous park with a lovely lake and stunning views of the Bay and it ended up being the perfect location, if a little chilly.

I was a little nervous on the morning of this session because, while it didn’t snow in Sunnyvale, it was a little rainy in the morning. The skies cleared up mid-morning for an absolutely gorgeous, sunny day though. The weather was perfect during the session, though we could have all done with it being a bit warmer, haha! Aly brought a huge, fuzzy jacket that she put on between shots to stay warm and we all blasted the heater when we drove up the hill for the last part of the session. Aly and Bobby were so incredibly sweet and I’m so glad we were able to get this engagement session in, because it looks like it’s raining for the next few weeks!
