And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
This emotional Half Moon Bay wedding made me put my hand to my heart and awww out loud several times! I was second shooting for the amazing Chloe Photography and it was so much fun getting to hang out with her and see her work. I started the day by meeting the groom in the hotel where he was getting ready. When I knocked on the door, it opened to a scene of chaos with a little panic thrown in. It turns out the groom’s son (who was part of the wedding party) didn’t have any suit pants! The groom turned to me and said, “I asked him if it was an April Fool’s Joke and he said no… but that would have been a good one!”
The store they rented the suits from was in San Francisco, a good 45 minutes north, so it was out of the question for any of them to drive up and get them. Luckily, the bride’s brother had the idea to call and Uber and get them to pick up the pants and drive them down to us. The first Uber driver happily agreed to this, but a slight snafu caused the ride to be cancelled… and the second driver the groom called grumpily said he hadn’t signed up for tasks like that! Third time was the charm, because the third driver said yes and was on his way and scheduled to arrive at the ceremony site when we were. It ended up working out perfectly, and the groom’s son had his pants before the bride even arrived! While we were at the hotel, the groom told me about the stuffed rabbit the bride had given him and the meaning behind it. They were having a reading from the Velveteen Rabbit in the wedding ceremony, which was pretty much the sweetest thing ever. The groom kept on picking the rabbit up and kissing it on the head. So sweet!
The bride and groom’s first look took place on the cliffs right along the coast in Half Moon Bay, and as soon as I saw the two of them together, I knew it was going to an emotional wedding. I loved the way the two of them looked at each other, and the bride had the best laugh that just made everyone around her smile. The ceremony was held outside under a stunning wooden arch decorated with beautiful fresh flowers. There was just enough cloud cover to give us gorgeous even light to capture the happy faces everywhere. Cocktail hour and a family style dinner followed, along with some awesome speeches that got both tears and laughter. The night ended with lots of fun dancing! These people knew how to party, for sure! It was such a wonderful, emotional Half Moon Bay wedding that was filled with laughter, smiles, tears, joy, and plain old fun.
