And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

Sam and I had our anniversary at the end of January and decided to celebrate by having prime rib for dinner and taking a walk. Our original plan was to walk around the entire Stanford Dish because Sam had never done that before. Actually, come to think of it, I don’t think I have either! I’ve definitely been to the Dish while I was an undergrad at Stanford, but I’m pretty sure I never actually walked the entire loop. Unfortunately, I still can’t say that I walked it, haha! It ended up being an insanely windy afternoon. I started out with my hair in a halo braid a la Barefoot Blonde, but there was so much wind, I HAD to take it down. I couldn’t waste some perfectly good wind by not having my hair down to let it blow around, haha! We ended up only making it to the top of the hill because it was sooo windy we were literally starting to freeze. We both had on some pretty thick jackets, but, of course, we took them off for the photos. It was actually so windy that I was afraid for my camera! I thought the wind was going to blow my tripod over. So we made it /super/ squat to make it more stable and keep it out of the wind and it ended up working out just fine 🙂 One tripod failure is enough for me! These were taken with a remote, for once, that we hid in Sam’s pocket.

After we were done with the photos and were thinking about walking some more, there was such a huge gust of wind that it was literally a little hard to walk. I said something along the lines of, “This is ridiculous!” and a woman walking in front of me goes… “Yeah, well, don’t wear a dress. Or next time, don’t come up here when it’s so windy.” Which was kind of rude, but it was absolutely worth it to freeze to get these photos, haha! They were the perfect anniversary gift from Sam <3
