And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
Sutro Baths is one of my favorite locations in San Francisco. With all the beautiful trees, interesting ruins, gorgeous reflections and the lovely beach, it’s no surprise it’s basically every photographer’s dream! Even though it was the first weekend of November, the weather has been unseasonably warm and gorgeous. Still, I was surprised there were so many people! I have literally never seen so many people at Sutro Baths even during an engagement session photographed there last September. Even with the crowds, the session couldn’t have been more amazing. The light on the beach was incredible, the sunset was out of this world and, of course, my couple was amazing. I’m so excited to share these Sutro Baths engagement photos with you.
Allen and Julie became friends in college six years ago and have been dating for over four years now. They are huge adventurers and lovers of good food and travel, so it’s not surprise I immediately loved them. Allen actually proposed in Santorini and we had fun chatting about how wonderful their Santorini trip was when we met for the first time over coffee. Allen and Julie have such a wonderful relationship and rapport with each other and are so incredibly fun to be around. Allen and I bonded over the fact that we both have family from Taiwan and I was so impressed that Julie has been learning Mandarin via Rosetta Stone to help her communicate better with Allen’s parents who mostly speak Chinese.
I love that my couples tend to be very adventurous, because it means I don’t feel as guilty making them do a bit of rock scrambling to get to the perfect light and location, haha! For Allen and Julie this meant I accidentally got them a bit wet when an unexpectedly large wave came up onto the beach we climbed down to… oops! Luckily they were really great sports about it and it /did/ make for a beautiful photo, so hopefully it was worth it 😉 Actually, that’s probably a fair warning to all of my couples… there is a very high chance I will make you do something slightly crazy just to get the perfect photo.
I’m so excited to photograph their wedding at Saratoga Springs next year!! If you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your wedding in 2019, definitely reach out soon! I am only taking on a few more weddings in the 2019 wedding season.
