And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

I spent the weekend on the East Coast photographing this relaxed, Rhode Island wedding. I’m glad my first true destination wedding was on a three day weekend! My aunt and uncle live outside of Boston, so it was the perfect chance to visit them. Nick and Catherine’s Baker Beach engagement session was a complete blast, so I was SO excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding. Catherine seriously has the most infectious laugh and I was honored a coworker would want me to photograph his wedding 🙂 Nick and Catherine met at Brown, so it was no surprise they decided to have their wedding in Providence.

The ceremony took place at the Aldrich House, just a few blocks from Brown. The reception was at Nick and Catherine’s favorite restaurant, Gracie’s, just across campus. I’d never been to Providence before and I am glad I finally had the chance. It is such a lovely city and I definitely want to go back, if only to go back to Gracie’s! Seriously, the food was AMAZING!

A couple days before the wedding, Nick texted me asking how I felt about photographing in the rain! Turns out there was a 60% chance of rain in the forecast, thanks to Hurricane Hermine. I immediately texted him back saying as long as we had some umbrellas, it would be fine. I promptly ordered a clear umbrella from Amazon and shipped it to my uncle’s and Nick went out to buy a bunch of umbrellas from Target. Luckily, the weather ended up being pretty much perfect. There wasn’t a drop of rain and the sun came out beautifully for sunset photos, which we took on the rooftop garden.

Overall, the entire wedding was beautiful and easy. It was clear that what Catherine and Nick truly cared about was being surrounded by family and friends and treating them to a delicious meal. Gracie’s did an incredible job with the food, even adding all sorts of lovely touches like a menu without being asked to. I loved my time on the East Coast and am looking forward to heading back again. So far, my next planned visit is to Washington, D.C. for another destination wedding 🙂
