And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.
When Anita posted on FB that she was looking for a second shooter for a Lake Tahoe beach wedding, I jumped on the chance. Tahoe’s a pretty far drive for me, but luckily I convinced not just Sam, but my sister and her husband, to come up with me! The three of them hung out on the beach while I was photographing this gorgeous wedding. The bride and groom weren’t doing a first look and the location where the bride was getting ready was actually /past/ the ceremony and reception site. This meant that when the bride arrived, she texted the groom and told him to hide in the bathroom. He stayed there until she was safely hidden away in the bridal suite! This was repeated again during the bridal portraits, haha!
It was a meltingly hot day that was surprising humid for Tahoe. The wedding was so charming, however, I forgot all about the heat. The ceremony was on the beach right by Chambers Landing Bar, with a gorgeous floral arch. During the ceremony, both the bride and groom were moved to tears at points. Their vows were incredibly touching and really showcased their love.
The wedding party was small and intimate, with just two groomsmen (both the groom’s brothers) and two bridesmaids (the bride’s best friend and the groom’s sister). The bridesmaids’ gold sequin-ed dresses were so pretty. I loved all the fun little touches to this wedding, like the dried lavender handed out to all the guests to toss on the bride and groom as they exited. I also absolutely loved the bride’s stunning ribbon-edged veil. Anita’s brides always have the best veils! When the bride and groom were on the dock, there was even a little wind to pick the veil up!
It was a fun ceremony with hilarious toasts. The groom’s father’s toast was particularly funny! The wedding wrapped up with lots of partying and dancing! Congratulations to the bride and groom on a lovely, relaxed Lake Tahoe wedding on the beach. Tahoe weddings are always such fun to photograph because everyone is so laidback and carefree!
