And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

There are so many beautiful places in Palo Alto to shoot engagement sessions. I realized that I totally forgot to post about this session, even though I got one of my favorite images ever out of it. I’ve known Claire for three years now and I’ve known Wyles even longer! We were on the Stanford Solar Car Project together back when I was in undergrad and we even went to Australia together and raced across the Outback. They are an incredibly down-to-earth couple that loves biking, delicious food and adventuring together. When we were talking about a location for the session, Claire mentioned that she loved the look of Russian Hill Open Space Preserve. Unfortunately, as much as I love the gorgeous open space preserves behind Stanford, we decided it wouldn’t be practical on a weeknight. We were running on a bit of a tight schedule because Wyles (who works at Apple) didn’t get out of work until fairly late. We knew we would be fighting the traffic, so we ended up picking Palo Alto Baylands Preserve instead to shorten our drive. I have driven past the Baylands hundreds of times–it was literally on my way home from work for two years–but I had never actually been there before! I did a bit of location scouting the night before the shoot and got a little giddy with excitement, because there are stunning sweeping golden fields… AND there was wind. I love wind in photos, so I had my fingers crossed tightly the next 24 hours in hopes that it would be windy during our session! The photography gods were kind to me, and there totally was a little wind. I just about died when Claire showed up in a flowing white dress with her hair down. It definitely had the makings of a perfect session! Claire and Wyles got married about a month ago now, so I wanted to send them a congratulations and thank you for being such an amazing couple to photograph!
